Met & fell in LOVE with this little guy on Friday. He is a golden retriever/lab mix. ….I don’t need a dog…I don’t need a dog. Trying to show restraint from getting one!

Spring is just around the corner, so I’m ready to celebrate! It’s been a long cold winter, so lets get outside and have a little fun!

Kyle and Annette went out with me for a photoshoot this past weekend. It was so cold, so we stayed int he Short North area and found some cool spots!

Yesterday, we braved the cold. Another snow fall came Friday night and there was a fresh new layer this morning. I’ve been getting the winter blues and feeling cabin feverish, so I needed to get outside! Shooting in the snow is AMAZING! It makes everything look wonderful.

Baby Brooke is finally here! I’m a little behind with blogging this, but I wanted to post a few of just her. This is my cousins new baby girl. These photos were taken the week she was born! So sweet.

Went to the Martin Mcbride concert tonight. It was a great weekend! Doing my best to beat the winter blues. What fun things have you done lately?

More from For the Love Workshop. Ah…..smiling as I reflect back on the week. I feel like the clouds have cleared and the weight that was on my shoulders is gone.
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me. Watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30j

We decided it would be fun to go sledding. What do you do when you don’t have a sled? Get a trash bag and a piece of cardboard and you are good to go! We had a good time flying down the hill that way. Lauren, Clary and I racin’ on down!

Kelly having a ball! I don’t think they see much snow in Texas!

Alison was a trooper to pose in the snow since we were snowed in on top of the mountain!

I am so blessed to have met all of these amazing photographers who are now close friends: Allison Ballinger, Alison Holcomb, Chelsea Giles, Chris Luk, Clary Pffeifer, Andrea Crosswhite, Glendon Tang, Jason Mize, LaRae Russell, Kasey Boatright, Kelly Hornberger, Kimberly Chau, Leslie Harris, Nicki Smith, Megan Greathouse, Maria Trout, Sharon Chin, Rebekah Hood.
A huge THANK YOU to Ginny Corbett for organizing this whole amazing, life changing workshop and for her amazing voice to lead us in worship. THANK YOU to Lauren Clark and Erik Clausen for taking time out of their busy lives to teach us photography and be great christian examples for us.
Just returned from For the Love Workshop and now i’m back to home sweet home. I can’t stop thinking about the amazing, spiritual, fun, photography filled week we all shared together. So many close friendships were made this past week. Connections formed so fast since we had more than photography in common, we had God.
I wasn’t sure what to expect going into the week, but it was everything I needed. Just to stand still in life is so powerful. This week, life slowed. We were surrounded by the calm of the snowy outdoors and stopped to spend time with the lord. He is so powerful and moved in so many of our lives. He knew that I needed to find close christian connections in my life and I found that this week. Not only amazing people that will be friends, but photographers. People who are going through the same struggles and who can help answer questions and support you when you need. Two people actually realized that they wanted to give up their photography business to become a pastor and the other a missionary. Lauren Clark realized that she wasn’t being fulfilled from shooting weddings anymore and plans to change her focus to portraits. Amazing….
Thank you so much to Ginny Corbett for all of her hard work to make this week possible. This workshop was felt deeply by each and everyone of us. Thank you to Lauren Clark and Erik Clausen for taking the time out of their schedules to be there with us to teach us about photography and business and worship with us.
If you are thinking about attending For the Love Workshop, just go! Combining a photography with a spiritual focus was the best decision I could have made. A weight has been lifted from me and I have a much clearer sense of direction for my business. And its like going to camp again where you get delicious home cooking, make new friends, stay up late and have fun all day. The lord will clear your path and show you the way while you are there.
Stay tuned for photos of the week!
